Picturing the women's tradition of manufacturing a quilt through which they materialy express they lived experiences, the film How to Make an American Quilt from the director Jocelyn Moorhouse (1995) reveals the importance of trans-generational communication and affective togetherness in the process of construction of a sustainable and inspiring community. Quilting becomes a oriductive tool of not only exchanging personal narratives, but also of learning how to collectively and learning the ability of thinking in the in-between spaces and at the intersections of diverse locations. Quilt actualizes the epistemological potencial of bringing together multiple perspectives in the process of generation of new modes of knowing and living. The essence of knwoledge and its germination and transmission dwells, as the film unveils, in a discovery of \"?the art.
